Yucatecan Recado Rojo provides a rich earthy flavor to the cooking of the Yucatan Peninsula. Traditionally, this spice blend is combined with citrus juice or vinegar to make a wet rub or marinade. We find that this blend is also delicious added straight to meats, veggies and eggs.

Recado Rojo: It's what's for breakfast
I became aware of this spice blend indirectly, kind of a rebound of a ricochet, and tracked it down at Teeny Tiny Spice Co. I'm all about big flavors so I ordered a small amount to give it a try. I'm back for a full pound because I can honestly say that it's made my breakfast burrito everything that I had hoped it could be. We eat with all of our senses and the wonderfully rich aroma of this spice as it cooks starts the feast. The company seems pretty cool, they got the stuff here quickly and I like the teaser samples of their other blends that they toss in the box so I rate the product and the company highly and will be back for more although it may be a while.
